BALTIMORE -- On a night in which the Orioles wore 1954 throwback uniforms to mark the 60th anniversary of their arrival in Baltimore, the team administered an old-fashioned whipping on the St. Ray Ban Sunglasses Outlet . In this one, a three-run drive by Machado and Hardys first home run helped Baltimore go up 5-0 against Justin Masterson (1-1) in the third. That was enough to propel the AL East-leaders to their ninth win in 12 games. Making his second start for the Cardinals since being traded from Cleveland, Masterson allowed five runs and seven hits in two-plus innings. He also walked three, hit two batters and threw a wild pitch. "This is not the best thing you want to do when you come to a new team," Masterson said. "He couldnt find the plate tonight and when he did, his pitches were more elevated than they were last time out," manager Mike Matheny said. "When he elevated the ball, they elevated it as well." Hardy connected with two on in the fourth off Nick Greenwood for an 8-0 lead. At that point, every Orioles starter either had a hit or scored a run. Baltimore leads the majors with 144 home runs and has at least one in seven straight games. The Orioles are 55-25 when they homer. The blowout was sweeter for the Orioles because many of the teams former greats, such as Brooks Robinson and Cap Ripken Jr., were on hand to watch it before being honoured in a ceremony afterward. Power was sixth, and Carpenter had a lead of about 18 seconds over Juan Pablo Montoya, when Takuma Satos engine blew and his car caught fire with seven laps left. While the top four cars stayed out during that caution, Power went in for fresh tires. That gave him the chance to make up some ground, and he made a big charge after the final restart to finish second, only a half-second back. With another lap, the outcome might have been different. "I dont know. Ed was awfully strong," Power said. "Hes an awesome driver and it would have been a good battle at the end. ... It was a lot of fun." Carpenters third career victory, all on ovals, came after leading 90 of 248 laps. After winning at Kentucky for Sarah Fisher Racing in 2011, he started his own team the next year and won the season finale at California. Indianapolis 500 champion Ryan Hunter-Reay, the Dallas-born driver who has said he "definitely, desperately" wants to win at Texas, had another tough weekend and only finished 135 laps before losing power and oil pressure. Since winning at Indy, Andretti Motorsport driver Hunter-Reay finished 16th and 19th at the dual races in Detroit and 19th at Texas. Marco Andretti, his teammate, finished last in the 22-car field after his own mechanical issues. Andretti started 17th and quickly moved into the top 10 after three laps before his engine blew and the car caught fire while he was trying to get back into the pits. He had to stop on the apron out of Turn 4, then hopped out of the car and walked back to his pit box. "This ones frustrating and this one really hurts for the championship too," said Andretti, who entered the weekend fifth in season points, two spots below Hunter-Reay.
